Description
Together We Can is an engagement programme, aimed at those furthest from the labour market. We expect this project to create a sense of support, purpose and power for the participants who undertake it. The objective is creating a community of peers within the programme, whilst weaving a network of support and nurture around the families this course will touch. Improving the mental fitness, coping abilities and support system of the individuals attending the course, will have a ripple effect. Directly impacting the lives of the children in their lives. Role modelling is vital for everyone - we work to the mantra, You Can’t Be, What You Can’t See. We will use Together We Can to create opportunities for people to explore their local support systems, discover the power and impact of volunteering for a local organisation and hear from guest speakers with lived experience about their journey’s, the challenges the faced and the things that made a difference to them.
Together We Can is a personal development course, which aims to uncover the strengths and skills with each individual participant, highlight their dominant communication style, teach them about their learning style, discuss the ideas and impact of being an engaged community member, give them access to a toolkit for building resilience and dealing with change. It is a self-reflective programme, and our facilitators support the participants every step of the way, on their journey of self-discovery, confidence building and skill development. We have partnered with Strathcarron Hospice on this project, and we are building in workshops that explore the value of volunteering, active citizenship, and compassionate communities. Delivery will be mostly group activities with 1:1 mentoring support built in. The mentoring will result in an Action Plan with bespoke next steps for each participant. The whole course will be accredited by CPD (Continuing Professional Development) which is a globally recognised, industry-less qualification, which practically all employers recognise. All course completers will gain this certification.
